BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 20. Iraq’s proven natural gas reserves have demonstrated remarkable stability over the past decade, Trend reports with reference to the data released by the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
From 2017 to 2023, the reserves remained steady at 3.714 trillion cubic meters (tcm), highlighting the country’s strong resource base.
The report shows that Iraq’s reserves stood at 3.158 tcm in 2014 and 2015, before experiencing a significant 20.9 percent increase in 2016, reaching 3.820 tcm. By 2017, the reserves stabilized at 3.744 tcm, maintaining this level with minor adjustments through 2023.
