Türkiye counts fertilizer volumes transported via its ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. Approximately 2.9 million tons of fertilizers were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through May 2024, the statement of Türkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.

The ministry noted that about 103,817 tons of cargo were transported by vessels under the flag of Türkiye, while 2.8 million tons were transported by vessels under the flags of other states.

"In May this year, 35,000 tons of 111 fertilizers were transported from Turkish ports by transit," the statement of the Ministry reads.

However, it should be noted that in May 2024, the ports of Türkiye received 34.7 million tons of cargo.

During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.3 million tons.

Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 32.4 million tons.

In addition, in May 2024, about 5.5 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.

The ports of Türkiye received 171.8 million tons of cargo from January through May 2024.

Meanwhile, the cargo traffic of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 12.3 million tons. Whereas by vessels under the flags of other countries, the cargo traffic to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 159.5 million tons.

A total of 28.4 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through May 2024.

To note, the ports of Türkiye received 5,289 vessels in May of this year. During this period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,566, and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 1,723.

Furthermore, Türkiye's ports received 23,770 vessels from January through May 2024. During this period, the number of vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports amounted to 16,272, and the number of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 7,498.
