Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 July /corr. Trend J.Babayeva / Differences arose in the negotiations on the creation of the new political bloc of Presidential candidates of Azerbaijan "Green policy", which was initiated by the Green Party of Azerbaijan. Decided to participate in the Presidential elections, the Co-chair of the Green Party, Mayis Gulaliyev, told Trend on 17 July that there is only shortage in realizing the idea of bloc.

"For participation in the new bloc, the leaders of political organizations, represented in the format of "five" of oppositional parties, want me to withdraw my candidature in favor of them, but I do not agree with it because the idea of the Green Party differs from the ideas of all political parties, which exist in Azerbaijan," he added.

The format of "five" of the oppositional parties of Azerbaijan was created last year. Tereggi Party, which was represented in the format, left the structure, making a decision to support Aliyev in the Presidential elections. Currently format includes Azerbaijan Democratic Party, Azerbaijan National Independence Party, Musavat Party, Public Forum "For Azerbaijan".

Azerbaijan will host the presidential elections on 15 October. Musavat party has already nominated its Chairman Isa Gambar, Azerbaijan Democratic Party - Sardar Jalaloglu, the Greens Party nominated Mais Gulaliyev, the Popular Front Party of Unified Azerbaijan nominated Gudrat Hasanguliyev and Musair Musavat nominated Hafiz Hajiyev. The head of the public forum For Azerbaijan Eldar Namazov stands for presidency as an independent candidate. The governing New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) will nominate country's current President Ilham Aliyev. Pro-governmental parties Ana Vatan and Social Prosperity Party intend to support Ilham Aliyev at the elections. Bloc Azadlig uniting three opposition parties (Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Citizen and Development Party, Liberal Party) intends to boycott the elections.

According to the information provided to Trend by Gulaliyev last month, the new bloc "Green policy" will represent Green Party and two parties, represented in "five" of the oppositional parties, which made a decision to participate in the Presidential elections with their candidate.

According to Gulaliyev, the "five", which does not have any benefit, will decompose in the beginning of August. "The parties, which is represented in this format and proposed to create a bloc together with the Greens, did not think that the structure will decompose internally. Those represented in "five" expect complete collapse of this format in order top cerate a new political bloc, he said.

In his opinion, "five" was not formed and did not function as a normal political organization. "The format, which even was not formed as consultative structure, took the function of discussing only certain problems. If the Green Party would be given an opportunity to be represented in "five", party would help this format to become block," added Gulaliyev.

According to him, the political parties, which have been functioning for long years, consider themselves humiliating to be gathered around the new parties. "In the normal society personal ambitions are put aside, and idea takes basis," said Gulaliyev.

The Green Party of Azerbaijan was created in 2007.
