Austrian President will visit Kazakhstan in 2009

Austrian President Heinz Fischer after the ceremony of presentation to him credentials by Kazakhstan new ambassador Erjan Kazyhanov, confirmed his intention to visit Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.

"The concrete date of the visit will be agreed via diplomatic channels", the Ministry said.

The Kazakh ambassador on behalf of the President congratulated the election of Austrian President as inconstant member of the UN Council of Security for 2009-2010, and also transmitted the invitation by President Nursultan Nazarbayev to make an official visit to Astana in 2009.

"The Austrian President expressed satisfaction by bilateral cooperation, resulted in expansion of commercial and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Austria, opening of the first Austrian embassy in Central Asia with the residence in Astana and increase of regular air flights between two countries", the Ministry said.

Austria expressed the desire to contribute to further development of mutually advantageous cooperation in the power engineering and transport spheres. Austria has also expressed its interest in introduction of high-tech and innovation projects in Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh Ambassador paid special attention to attraction of Austrian business circles to realize projects in non-raw material spheres of the economy, and also development of small and medium-scale enterprises",
