There is potential for developing bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, Pakistani Defense Secretary Syed Athar Ali said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov.
Pakistan supports Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity and doesn't recognize Armenia, Ali was quoted by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry as saying.
Stressing the potential for cooperation between the countries in the political, economic and cultural spheres, Khalafov emphasized the importance of effectively using this potential to deepen the relations between the countries.
Khalafov thanked Pakistan for its support of Azerbaijan's just position in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
