Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, hopes that the development of trade and economic relationships with Azerbaijan will enable to double the volume of goods turnover soon, Trend reports citing ITAR-TASS.
"The two countries have big volume of bilateral relationships in the political, international and economic spheres," he said in a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart at the Kremlin on November 9, 2006.
"Goods turnover exceeded $1bln, Putin said. I hope we will double it in the nearest 2-3 years." "In any case, growth pace of goods turnover also testifies it, the Russian President said. This year turnover of goods is 50% more than last year.
