Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 12/ Trend , I. Alizade/ Azerbaijan's new draft Law on Education will be brought up for discussions in the parliament in the second reading at late Dec.
"International practice and various opinions in the field of education have been studied. There are different education systems. The key principle is that new Law and field of education should meet Bologna system," Safa Mirzayev, chief of administration of the parliament, said to reporters.
Azerbaijan's current Law on Education has been adopted in 1992. Standing Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science has worked out draft of a new Law since 1995. But new Law has not been adopted yet. New draft Law was approved in the first reading in Dec 2007. (Laws go through three readings).
Mirzayev said Azerbaijan's education system is being approximated with the Bologna process. "New Law reflects major advantages of the Bologna system," he added.
