ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 11. 78 Kazakhstani plant-growing enterprises have received accreditation from the General Customs Administration of China, Trend reports Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture
"As a result of negotiations between the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, and the leadership of the General Customs Administration of China in Beijing in November 2024, a temporary working group was created to address current issues related to expanding the access of Kazakhstani agricultural products to the Chinese market," the ministry stated.
Meetings of the working group, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the General Customs Administration of China, were held on December 25, 2024, and January 10, 2025. As a result of the negotiations, the Chinese side made a positive decision to accredit 78 Kazakhstani plant-growing enterprises. The registration process will proceed according to established procedures.
The Ministry of Agriculture initiated a request for training for employees of Kazakhstan's veterinary and phytosanitary services to conduct inspections in compliance with China's veterinary and quarantine requirements and to work with CIFER (China Import Food Enterprise Registration). This training will help increase the awareness of domestic specialists about the specific export requirements of China for agricultural products.
At the second meeting of the working group, the representatives of the General Customs Administration expressed interest in importing horse meat and emphasized the need to expedite procedures for opening access for horse meat exports from Kazakhstan to China.
To note, the next meeting of the working group is planned to be held in person at the level of deputy heads of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the General Customs Administration of China in February 2025.
