BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. The volume of trade operations between Azerbaijan and Croatia amounted to $188.9 million in January of this year.

Data obtained by Trend from the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee shows that this figure grew by $188.3 million (295 times) from January 2024.

During the reporting month, trade turnover with Croatia accounted for 3.71 percent of Azerbaijan's total trade turnover.

In January of this year, Azerbaijan exported products worth $188.2 million to Croatia. No export operations were recorded with this country in 2024. During the reporting month, exports to Croatia made up 6.19 percent of Azerbaijan's total exports.

Moreover, this January, Azerbaijan imported goods from Croatia worth $705,000, which represents a year-on-year growth of 66,000 manat or $38,820 (10.3 percent).

Additionally, in January 2025, Azerbaijan exported crude oil and crude oil products worth $188.2 million, made from 339,000 tons of bituminous rocks, to Croatia.

In the preceding month, Croatia achieved a notable position, securing the 4th rank in the hierarchy of nations receiving the highest volume of oil exports from Azerbaijan.

To note, in January of this year, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $5.9 billion, which is $2.1 billion (70.5 percent) higher compared to the same period last year.

Last month, $3.4 billion of the trade turnover were exports, and $2.5 billion were imports, which also represents a respective increase of $1.2 billion (or 64.8 percent) and $910 million (or 79.7 percent) compared to the previous year.

During the reporting month, a favorable trade surplus of $986 million was established, representing an increase of $285 million (40.7 percent) compared to the corresponding month in the previous year.
