TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 15. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the new enterprise of textile cluster WBM Romitex, located in Andijan, Trend reports via the Uzbek president's office.

The enterprise, named WBM Fabrics, has become an important link in the value chain of deep processing. As part of an investment project worth 50 million dollars, a modern production facility was built and equipped with high-tech machinery from Italy and Germany. The plant has launched production for fabric dyeing and printing, with an annual output target of 24,000 tons of in-demand products. The enterprise has created 600 permanent jobs.

Special attention has been given to the installation of a modern water treatment system, which enables the recycling of industrial water used in the dyeing workshops. This solution ensures high efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The head of state toured the production areas and spoke with specialists, discussing issues such as efficient space utilization, cost reduction through energy saving, and improving employee qualifications.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that the enterprise primarily targets the foreign market. The expected annual export volume is 55 million dollars.

The textile industry in Andijan region is rapidly developing. The region is increasingly processing local cotton within the modern cluster system and accounts for 16.5 percent of the national textile industry. In 2024, textile products worth 20 trillion soums were produced in Andijan, and exports totaled 488 million dollars, representing 42 percent of the total export volume of the region.
