ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 24. The Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy, Almassadam Satkaliev, signed an order dated June 9, 2025, approving the Regulation on the Republican State Institution "Committee for Atomic Supervision and Control of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy," Trend reports.
According to the information, the Committee has the authority to make independent decisions on issues related to nuclear, radiation, and physical safety, and in its work relies on the legislation of Kazakhstan, as well as on international agreements and obligations, including cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
"The Committee for Atomic Supervision and Control of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy is a department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy, responsible for oversight in the field of atomic energy use," the document states.
Funding for the Committee's activities is provided from the republican budget, within the framework of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"The Committee is led by a chairman, who bears personal responsibility for the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the Committee and for exercising its functions," the text says.
A List of Territorial Bodies of the Committee was also approved:
Western Interregional Inspection of the Committee for Atomic Supervision and Control of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy;
Southern Interregional Inspection of the Committee for Atomic Supervision and Control of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy;
Eastern Interregional Inspection of the Committee for Atomic Supervision and Control of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy.
This order comes into effect ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication.
