BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. The volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) amounted to $3.5 billion from January through May 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that this indicator grew by $328 million, or 10.2 percent, compared to the same period in 2024 ($3.2 billion).

Specifically, during the reporting period of the current year, only one of the ECO member states (Türkiye) was included in the main countries to which Azerbaijan exported crude oil. During this period, 34,800 tons of crude oil worth $16.9 million were exported to Türkiye.
Meanwhile, three ECO member states (Türkiye, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan) were included in the main countries to which Azerbaijan exported non-oil products. Non-oil products worth $251.4 million were exported to Türkiye, $44.8 million to Kazakhstan, and $19.3 million to Uzbekistan.
To note, ECO includes Pakistan, Türkiye, Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Overall, during the reporting period, Azerbaijan conducted trade transactions with foreign countries worth $20.9 billion. This indicator is $2.5 billion, or 13.7 percent more than in the same period last year. As much as $11 billion of foreign trade turnover fell on exports, and $9.9 billion on imports. Over the past year, exports have decreased by 1.2 percent, while imports have increased by 36.5 percent. As a result, a surplus of $1.03 billion was created in foreign trade, which is $2.8 billion, or 3.7 times less than a year before.
