Construction of the second stage of the Lebap cement plant in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan will begin this month, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.
The construction of the second stage with production capacity of 1 million tons of cement per year will be completed by 2020.
The construction will be carried out by Turkmen Enjam company.
By the decree of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Ministry of Industry and Construction of state is allowed to conclude a contract with this company for construction of external supply engineering systems of electricity, gas, water supply and railways.
Turkmenistan has increased cement production by 20 percent and reduced the cost of its manufacturing by using basalt additives.
Basalt additives were developed by researchers at the Institute of chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
Thus, manufacturers began to enrich the mixture of clinker and gypsum with crushed porphyritic basalt, which is local raw material extracted at the Ufra deposit in the Balkan region.
