Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 February/ corr. Trend U. Ismailova/ The housing market of Azerbaijan was more dynamic in 2007 compared to 2006, resulting in an average price rise of 23.2%, Nusret Ibrahimov, the executive director of the public union the Participants of the Housing Market said.
"An increase in real estate prices will total 16% to 18% in 2008 and the housing market will be less active in the first half of 2008," Ibrahimov said.
The changes in the housing market in 2007 took place as follows: the price rise in the secondary market totaled to 21.8% compared to 2006 and 49% in the first market, 18.5% in the land market, 28.6% in the market of commercial projects, 5.1% in the market of apartment rent, 12.1% in the rental market of commercial projects and 16.8% in the building materials market.
The housing market in Azerbaijan is the least active at the moment and it will continue for the next 3 to 4 months, Ibrahimov said.
According to the data of the State Statistics Committee, the apartment fund of Azerbaijan totalled 105 mln sq.m.
