Ukraine, Kiev, Dec. 23/ Trend , Z. Novsvitski/ The Ukrainian Ministry of Labor and Social Policy expects the unemployment to increase to 9% in 2009, Lyudmila Denisova, Ukrainian minister of labor and social policy, said.
"The unemployment is expected to increase from 6.2% in the first six months of 2008 to 9% in 2009," Denisova said.
In 2009, 2.9 to 3.2mln people will apply to employment service, according to Minister of Labor's forecast.
"The branches depending on export such as metallurgical and chemical works, will suffer more than others," Minister said.
"The government is ready to compensate part of wage provided that employers not to discharge employees," Denisova said.
