The shareholders of the Anglo-Asian Mining gold producer in Azerbaijan have changed.
"The company received a notice on March 11 that RCF Management does not own share capital in the company," a company statement said.
By late May 2010, the Resource Capital Fund owned a 5.890-percent stake. The largest shareholders were Reza Weser, who owned 29.92 percent, Khagani Bashirov who owned 16.5 percent, John Sununu who owned 9.79 percent, and Limelight Industrial Developments Limited, which owned 3.68 percent.
Resource Capital Funds was founded in 1998. It includes private direct investments funds with mandates to invest exclusively in the mining sector in different regions.
Anglo Asian Mining Plc. owns the rights to develop six fields in southwestern Azerbaijan. The concession is based on PSA agreements signed with the Azerbaijani government in Aug. 1997.
The PSA was signed between the Azerbaijani government and the Azerbaijan International Mineral Resources Operating Company. Azerbaijan's share is 51 percent, and Anglo-Asian Mining's is 49 percent.
