In the first half of the Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), 600 tons of frozen chicken were exported from customs office in Iran’s Dogharun town to Afghanistan, Mohammad Ali Kamil, director of the Veterinary Department in Iran’s Khorasan Razavi province, said in an interview with IRNA.
He said that so far, the chicken has been exported in frozen condition. However, given the short distance from Iran to Afghanistan, fresh chicken can also be exported, he added.
Frozen chicken is exported to Afghanistan at the price in Iranian markets, he said.
Last year, 1,200 tons of frozen chicken were exported to Afghanistan via Dogharun customs, he noted.
“In the first half of this year, more than 100 tons of goat wool were exported to Afghanistan via Dogharun’s customs,” he said.
He added that during the six months, 2,400 tons of cow skin were transited to Turkey via Dogharun’s customs, while 1,200 tons of goat skin entered Dogharun’s customs from Afghanistan to be transited to China.
