As many as 60 manufacturing and 76 industrial enterprises were put into operation in the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 21, 2020), said Nader Asgharpour deputy chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of East Azerbaijan Province, Trend reports citing the organization.
Asgharpour said that more than 2.4 trillion rials (about $57.1 million) was spent on the commissioning of 60 new manufacturing enterprises and 1,000 people were employed.
He added that the commissioned manufacturing enterprises operate mainly in the area of equipment and vehicles.
“In addition, more than 8 trillion rials (about $190 million) was invested in the commissioning of 75 new industrial enterprises and 1,200 people were employed,” he noted.
The deputy chairman emphasized that the industrial enterprises are mainly operate in the food and soft drink industry, chemicals, tires, rubber and manufacturing of related equipment.
According to him, the activities of 30 enterprises were restored to protect the employment of more than 200 people in the industrial parks of the province during this period.
