By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
The Georgian state company Imereti Agrozon will invest 150 million euros in the greenhouse project, said Georgy Dadiani, executive director of the Georgian-Dutch consortium Geoholding & KSH, who is working on the project, Trend reports via Georgian media.
“The total investment value is about 150 million euros,” said Dadiani.
The project is being implemented in the Imereti region at the initiative of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia.
Consortium Imereti Agrozone provides technical and technological, legal, and financial expert advisory services, helps in cooperation with international financial organizations and development agencies in attracting investment capital.
As Dadiani said, the project has entered the second stage of development, which includes inviting potential private clients to participate in the Imereti Agrozone greenhouse cluster project.
According to Dadiani, the second phase of the project is supported by both the state and international financial institutions (ABD, World Bank, EIB, IFC, etc.), as well as development agencies (USAID, FAO, ENPARD, UNDP).
The greenhouse cluster provides the development of industrial infrastructure on potential 220 hectares of land owned by Imereti Agrozone. The project includes several stages of development and is designed for a period of 3 to 5 years.
The Georgian-Dutch consortium was established in 2019 through the merger of Dutch and Georgian-German consulting companies to participate in a tender announced by Imereti Agrozone. The consortium was founded, on the one hand, by Geoholding Ltd., and on the other, by the Dutch company K. Spiertz Holding BV.
