Azerbaijani exports to Belarus increase

The export volume from Azerbaijan to Belarus in total amounted to $122.9 million during the first four months of 2021, which is by 2.4 times more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports on June 1 with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Thus, the share of Belarus in Azerbaijan’s total export volume increased from 0.8 percent to 1.93 percent.

During the reporting period, the import of the products of Belarus to Azerbaijan increased from $40 million to $42 million (5.1 percent).

The share of Belarus in Azerbaijan’s total import volume reached 1.19 percent of the total volume during the first four months of 2021 compared to 1.18 percent in the same period of 2020.

As a result, the volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Belarus reached approximately $165 million from January through April 2021, increasing by 1.8 times compared to the period from January through April 2020.

The balance of foreign trade turnover between the two countries for the reporting period remained positive and is estimated at $80.9 million.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover reached almost $9.9 billion from January through April 2021. Some $6.4 billion (64.33 percent) of that volume accounted for export while $3.5 billion (35.67 percent) accounted for import.
