(autoinsidernews) - Nissans new-generation VQ six-cylinder V-type engines will offer more power, better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Last month, Nissan confirmed that its new 3.5L VQ engine, the VQ35HR (the HR stands for high revolution and high response), received an SAE certified rating of 306-hp. The VQ35HR will first be seen in the States in the 2007 Infiniti G35, which will be available this fall, reports Trend.

The new engines are extensively redesigned and feature new blocks and other key components, with a top-in-class engine speed of 7,500 rpm. In addition to more power, the engines also offer a 10 percent improvement in fuel efficiency and top-in-class Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle level emissions.
