The volume of oil production at Azerbaijan’s Kursangi, Garabagli fields stood at 111,705 tons since early 2021 up until end-November, a source on the country's oil and gas market told Trend.
“The daily production at the fields was around 372 tons from January through September 2021. Starting from October 2021 this volume rose to 375 tons, since repair was completed at some wells. In November 2021 the daily production stood at 373 tons. Currently, 245 out of 255 wells at the fields are engaged in oil production”, added the source.
The contract for development of Kursangi and Garabagli fields was signed in 1998 for a period of 25 years. The shareholders of Salyan Oil are Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and China National Oil & Gas Exploration and Development.
The fields are located in Azerbaijan’s Salyan district, around 150 kilometers from Baku. Some experts believe that the remaining reserves on the contract area exceed 150 million tons.
