Hotel prices in Georgia fell in August 2019, Trend reports citing the Georgian Forbes publication.
In particular, the cost of 3, 4 and 5-star hotels decreased by 5.3 percent, while the cost of guesthouses decreased by 3.1 percent.
According to report, the average price of an overnight stay in a 3-star hotel in Georgia was 151 lari in August, in a 4-star hotel - 230 lari and in a 5-star hotel - 488 lari. As reported, the average price of hotels in Adjara resort, the coastal region, is declining every year.
In August 2019, compared to August last year, the largest decline in hotel prices - 8.1 percent - was recorded in Kvemo Kartli, followed by Adjara with a decrease of 5.5 percent and Mtskheta-Mtianeti with a decrease of 5.2 percent.
In turn, the hotel prices in Tbilisi rose on average by 20.4 percent in August 2019 compared to the same period of last year. Significant growth by 23.7 percent was also observed in the Racha region of the country.
The most expensive overnight stay in a 5-star hotel in Tbilisi costs on average 592 lari, followed by stay in Adjara at 461 lari and Kakheti at 398 lari.
