BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. The average monthly nominal salary of wage earners in Azerbaijan increased by 7.8 percent from January through October 2024 compared to the same period last year and amounted to 993.2 manat ($584.2).

Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan indicates that wages in the oil and gas sector amounted to 3,706 manat ($2,179), and in the non-oil and gas sector - 943.3 manat ($554.8). Salaries of employees of state enterprises amounted to 953.3 manat ($560.7) and for private enterprises - 1,042 manat ($612.9).

The highest wages were recorded for workers in mining, insurance and finance, information, and communications, as well as in the field of scientific and technical activities.

To note, the average monthly nominal wage of salaried employees in Azerbaijan in 2023 increased by 11.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 933.8 manat ($549).
