Speed of incoming traffic in Azerbaijan reaches 12 Gbit/s

The speed of incoming Internet traffic in the network of the primary Azerbaijani provider Delta Telecom has reached 12 Gbit/s.

Over the past three months, the volume of incoming traffic has increased from one to four Gbit/s.

The dynamics of the network load vary depending on the time of day and the largest amount of the network load occurs at daytime. At night, the figure falls to 2.5 Gbit/s.

According to Delta Telecom statistics, the volume of outgoing traffic is 3 Gbit/s. The figure falls to 1 Gbps at night.

At present, the total capacity of the AzNET segment exceeds 40 Gbit/s.

Delta Telecom traffic is divided among 26 telecommunications operators.

As of Jan.28, the most traffic delivered to end users fell to the public Internet service provider BakinterNet (more than 22.28 percent), Uninet (trademark Stream) (over 14.44 percent), and Stellford (10.19 percent).

Other providers include: Azeronline - 9.77 percent, Ultel - 6.33 percent, Superonline - 7.11 percent, DATAPlus - 5.92 percent, Aztelekom - 2.70 percent, ADaNet - 3.78 percent, AzEuroTel - 2.40 percent, AzStarNet - 2.25 percent, TransEuroCom - 1.33 percent, SMART - 2.10 percent, Avirtel - 1.58 percent, Caspel - 0.81 per cent, Information and Computing Center of the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry - 2.09 percent, Nakhchivan - 0.96 percent, DataCell - 0.67 percent, AzNET - 0.84 percent, Bakcell - 0.62 percent, IntraNS - 0.65 percent, Azerfon - 0.29 percent, Castel - 0.43 percent, AzIntex - 0.24 percent, QlobalNet - 0.17 percent and Azerin - 0.14 percent.
