Some 23,253 tourists from Uzbekistan visited Turkey in June 2018, which is 36.19 percent more than in the same month of 2017, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey told Trend Aug. 27.

Uzbek citizens rank second among tourists from Central Asia, who visited Turkey in June 2018.

The ministry noted that the share of Uzbek citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in June 2018 accounted for 0.52 percent.

For comparison, this figure was 0.49 percent in June 2017.

Some 5,091,496 tourists visited Turkey in June 2018, which is 28.49 percent more than in the same period of 2017.

The Turkish province of Antalya was visited by 1,933,899 tourists in June 2018, which accounted for 42.92 percent of the total number of tourists. Istanbul was visited by 1,100,389 people, which accounted for 24.42 percent of the total number of tourists who visited Turkey during the period.

Turkey was visited by 451,699 tourists from Germany, 306,647 tourists from the UK, 241,095 tourists from Ukraine, and 210,989 tourists from Bulgaria during June. Tourists from the rest of the world accounted to 3,881,066.

Some 15,968,001 tourists visited Turkey during 1H2018, which is 30.36 percent more than in the same period of 2017.
