ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 15. Kazakhstan's trade turnover with EU countries from January through May 2024 amounted to $20.2 billion, Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover increased by 14.3 percent compared to the same period last year ($17.7 billion).
At the same time, exports to the EU countries for the above period amounted to $15.6 billion, which is 17.3 percent more year-on-year ($13.3 billion).
In addition, imports from the EU countries from January through May 2024 increased by 5.3 percent and amounted to $4.6 billion. From January through May 2023, imports amounted to $4.3 billion.
Among the EU countries, Kazakhstan's largest trading partner from January through May 2024 was Italy. Thus, trade turnover between the countries amounted to $8.2 billion. Of these, exports to Italy were $7.7 billion, and imports from Italy were $505 million.
