BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 18. The number of Visa cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan's Osh region amounted to 248,895 as of the end of December 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan indicates that this figure increased by 49.4 percent compared to the 166,553 cards at the end of December 2022.
As of the end of December 2023, there were a total of 932,941 cards in circulation in the Osh region, which is 24.3 percent higher than the number for the same date in 2022 (750,097 cards). The Osh region's share in the country's total number of cards in circulation amounted to 13.5 percent.
The total number of Visa payment cards in Kyrgyzstan reached 3.249 million by the end of 2023. This figure increased by 58.7 percent compared to the same period in 2022, when it stood at 2.046 million. The share of Visa cards within Kyrgyzstan's total bank card circulation expanded from 39.1 percent at the end of 2022 to 47.2 percent by December 2023.
Overall, the number of bank payment cards circulating in Kyrgyzstan surpassed 6.89 million by December 31, 2023.
