BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 2. Kyrgyzstan's coal production reached 762,300 tons in 2024, which is 11.7 percent less than the 863,500 tons in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the volume of coal production in December reached 80,500 tons, showing a 5.1 percent increase compared to December of the previous year.
Meanwhile, brown coal (lignite) production increased to 3.6 million tons, which is an 11.4 percent rise compared to the 2023 figure of 3.262 million tons. In December, the volume stood at 497,000 tons, which is a 14.3 percent increase over the same period of 2023 (434,900 tons).
The total value of mineral extraction production in 2024 amounted to 62.662 billion som ($716.5 million), with a physical volume index of 104 percent compared to 2023.
Overall,The value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan exceeded 585 billion som ($6.6 billion) in 2024, which is a 5.5 percent increase compared to 2023,
