DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 6. Tajikistan allocated 3.038 billion somoni (around $312 million) in fixed capital investments toward energy infrastructure from January through May 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistical Agency indicates that the figure rose by 1.2 percent compared to the same period in 2024 (in comparable prices).
Meanwhile, investments in the transport and communications sectors reached 638.2 million somoni (approximately $65.6 million), reflecting a 3.7 percent year-on-year growth.
Overall, fixed capital investment in the country totaled 8.71 billion somoni (roughly $896 million) during January–May 2025, up 9 percent compared to the same period last year.
Investment distribution across Tajikistan's regions during the mentioned period shows that 40.6 percent of total investments were directed to the Districts of Republican Subordination, followed by Dushanbe with 30.2 percent. The Khatlon region accounted for 13.6 percent of investment flows, the Sughd region for 11.7 percent, and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region for 3.9 percent.
