Registration of presidential candidates nominated by social organizations continues in Turkmenistan.
The country's Central Election Commission on Saturday announced a fresh list of registered candidates. Among them are the head of Construction Ministry's "Lebapgurlushyk" production association Esenkuli Gayipov, director of the Gokdepe cotton spinning mill Saparmyrat Batyrov and the energy and industry minister Yarmuhammet Orazgulyev.
All of them were presented with the candidate's ID card.
On Friday the Deputy Governor for Agriculture of Dashoguz province Recep Bazarov, the head of "Marygazchykarysh" department of Turkmengaz State Concern Kakageldy Abdyllaev, the governor of Turkmennneft State Concern's "Nebitgazduypliabatlayysh" trust Gurbanmamed Mollanyyazov and the Water Resources Minister Annageldy Yazmyradov were registered.
Earlier, the country's current president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who runs Turkmenistan since 2007, was nominated as the presidential candidate of social organizations.
Upon completion of registration, in accordance with the schedule approved at the CEC session, the campaign will begin. The candidates will make statements on the television and meet with voters.
"Monitoring of the pre-election process will be carried out both by national observers and specially invited representatives of international organizations. More than 2,300 national observers from Turkmen NGOs and organizations have been registered", says the report by CEC.
The presidential elections in Turkmenistan are scheduled for February 12, 2012.
