ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 8. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed interest in investing in the development of the new Turkmen Arkadag city, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City, Deryageldi Orazov said during a working meeting with the Chairman of the People's Council, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov in Ashgabat today, Trend reports.

According to Orazov, the Turkmen delegation has been invited to the upcoming IMF meeting, where key issues related to ecology, the 'smart city' concept, and potential investments in medical and agricultural clusters will be discussed.

Particular attention will be given to Arkadag's investment program, its advisory system, and humanitarian support for the city.

The meeting noted that the IMF's interest in the new megacity is linked to its ecological cleanliness and the implementation of advanced technologies, making the city attractive for further development and the construction of industrial complexes on its territory.
