Uzbekistan, Lithuania intend to expand bilateral cooperation

A delegation of the Lithuanian Seimas and the speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan's Oliy Majlis (upper house of the parliament) Dilor Tashmuhamedov discussed the current status of bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation.

The Lithuanian delegation was headed by the Deputy Chairman of Seimas, Vydas Gedvilas, a message from the Uzbek parliament said on June 11.

During the talks, the guests stressed that Lithuania attaches great importance to strengthening and further developing the social, political, trade, economic and humanitarian relations with Uzbekistan.

They also underscored that it is necessary to strengthen the legal framework of the bilateral relations.

The Lithuanian delegation also held negotiations at Uzbekistan's Ministry of Agriculture and Water Industry and the Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company.
