Uzbekistan will acquire additional shares in the authorized capital of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Financial Corporation (IFC), which are parts of the World Bank Group, Trend reports citing Uzbek Media.
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on November 30, on this matter.
According to the decree, Uzbekistan will acquire shares of the IBRD in the amount of $91.92 million and IFC shares in the amount of $12.78 million.
The head of Uzbekistan approved payment schedules for the acquisition of shares of the IBRD for 2022-2023 and the shares of IFC for 2022-2025.
The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has been instructed to issue a corresponding legal opinion on the subscription for additional shares in IBRD and IFC.
