TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 18. Major Chinese footwear brands show growing interest in Uzbekistan; some of them are ready to transfer part of their production to the country, Trend reports.
This was announced at a meeting between the delegation of the Uzcharmsanoat Association in China's Wenzhou Province and leaders and members of the Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which unites manufacturers of footwear equipment.
At present, the association is visiting a number of industrially developed provinces in China. Negotiations are underway to further develop trade and economic relations between the two countries in the leather, footwear, and fur industries, expand investment cooperation, and implement promising projects under export-import contracts.
The topic of discussion was the modernization of Uzbek enterprises and the attraction of Chinese brands to Uzbekistan.
The Chinese side presented a presentation on the reforms implemented in the leather and footwear industry in Uzbekistan in recent years, as well as production, investment, and export potential. Information on the conditions and opportunities created for foreign investors, taxes, customs privileges, and preferences was also presented.
As a result of the dialogue, an agreement was reached to organize business trips and international forums between the leather and footwear enterprises of the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Uzbekistan-China investment forum will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, on January 25.
The forum is expected to be attended by more than 300 executives of China's largest companies.
Panel sessions on such topics as "Infrastructure," "Digital Transformation," and "Energy and Electrical Engineering," as well as B2B and G2B meetings, are envisaged.
