TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 14. Uzbekistan and South Korea have prepared a package of new projects worth $9.6 billion within the framework of the Uzbek-Korean business forum, Trend reports.
The news followed a meeting of the presidents of Uzbekistan and South Korea with representatives of the media.
The sides noted that the new package of projects will give a powerful impetus to trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
At the same time, there are 726 enterprises with Korean capital in Uzbekistan. Joint projects are being implemented in industry, energy, automotive, chemical, mining, textile, food, IT, and other important areas.
Both parties discussed priorities for further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, new plans, and benchmarks.
They paid attention to giving a systemic character to all mechanisms of interaction, the importance of increasing trade turnover, and ensuring a balanced mutual trade.
Meanwhile, the total volume of Korean investments in Uzbekistan's economy exceeded $7.5 billion in 2023. Mutual trade turnover has doubled in recent years, reaching $2.5 billion last year.
