Uzbekistan unveils major project volume with German firms

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 17. The portfolio of current and prospective projects in Uzbekistan involving German companies exceeds €20 billion, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the second meeting of the "Central Asia - Germany" summit, Trend reports.

"These projects span various sectors, including energy, chemicals and mining, machine engineering, textiles and food industries, agriculture, transportation and logistics, and construction materials production," Mirziyoyev stated.

The president highlighted that German partner companies such as Siemens, Linde, BASF, MAN, Klaas, Knauf, and many others have invested approximately €6 billion in Uzbekistan's economy over recent years.

To note, the second meeting of the leaders of Central Asian countries and Germany was held in Astana.

In the course of the summit, the issues of further development and deepening of multifaceted cooperation between the countries of the region and Germany were reviewed.

Special attention was paid to the expansion of practical cooperation in trade and economics, investment, technology, transport and communication, and other priority areas. Joint meetings with the heads of leading German companies and banks were also held.

Following the summit, a joint declaration of the heads of Central Asian states and Germany was adopted.
