Mouteh Gold Complex in central Iran produced over 181 kilograms of gold ingots in the first five months of the current fiscal year (started March 20).
The figure indicates a 55-percent growth compared with that of the same period of the preceding year, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported Oct. 10.
The figure is 77 percent more compared to the planed output which was 101 kilograms.
The complex’s gold ingot output in the fifth Iranian fiscal month (July 21-Aug. 22) accounted to 45 kilograms, 88 percent more year-on-year.
The complex is located 295 kilometers southwest of Tehran. Chah Khatoun Gold Mine is the main source of Mouteh's gold extraction. Mouteh's annual gold ingot output stands at over 200 kg.
The company plans to increase the figure to 340 kilograms during the current fiscal year (to end March 2018).
The provinces of East and West Azerbaijan, Tehran, Isfahan and Khorassan Razavi are the top gold production spots in the country.
Iran's National Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization put the proven and probable gold reserves at 320 tons.
