Georgia, Tbilisi, 2 July / corr. Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Georgia urged the OSCE to join actively the process of conflict settlements in the territory of the country. Grigol Vashadze, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, made this statement at a conference held in Vienna, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
He participated at the annual conference on 'Revision of Security' held at the OSCE headquarters. "The Foreign Ministry official emphasized expediency of joining the process of conflicts settlement at a country of international community, especially at the European Union (EU), OSCE and UN, and stated the necessity of changing a peacemaking format," the Foreign Ministry reported.
The EU and US representatives expressed their support to peaceable settlement of conflicts in the Georgian territory noting the importance of the last incident happened in Georgia.
The conference will be in progress on 2 July, and a separate plenary session will deal with conflict settlement and OSCE's opportunities. On the same day bilateral meetings, focused on situation in the conflict regions, are to be held between the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister and the OSCE and the US State Department representatives.
