Diego Maradona was released from hospital on Monday after he underwent surgery to have kidney stones removed in the Gulf emirate of Dubai, the hospital said.
Maradona was admitted to hospital on Sunday after he complained of abdominal pains, DPA reported.
Shortly after the surgery, Maradona was keen to watch the match between Sharjah and Baniyas teams in his hospital room after the doctors applied local anesthesia on him.
Sources at the hospital said Maradona was taking notes during the match to prepare for the next game of Dubai's Al Wasl football team, which Maradona has been coaching since May under a two-year contract.
Maradona is recuperating at home and expected to return to the club and resume training next Monday.
