Azerbaijan, Baku, 05 September /corr. Trend E.Tariverdiyeva / Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was and will remain as the guarantee of the territorial integrity of its member-countries, the President of Russia, Dmitriy Medvedev, said today at the briefing in Moscow. The briefing took place after the CSTO meeting.
"Naturally, all partners on CSTO will independently determine their positions
regarding the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, being guided by their
national interests," said Medvedev.
CSTO is a military and political union, established by the former Soviet republics on the basis of the Collective Security Treaty signed on 15 May 1992. CSTO members are Russia, Belarus, Kirghizia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
