The incident took place on Kabul- Kandahar Highway in Andar district in Chagharo village, Colonel Muhammad Zaman, provincial police chief told media.
He said armed Taliban attacked Abdul Ghafoor, Qarabagh district police chief when he was in his vehicle traveling to the market from district headquarters.
The police chief escaped Taliban attack, but his car misshaped and he wounded, the police chief added.
In another report police killed an attacker in Ghazni city on Sunday morning, Ismail Jahangir, spokesman for Ghazni governor, added.
A person wanted police station in the city and resisted police check up and also grabbed gun from a policeman. Jahangir added police surrounded him on the street and killed him.
It is mentionable that recently, Taliban insurgents increased their activity in this province.
Ghazni is a central province on the highway to Kabul-Kandahar.
Presently, more than 20,000 Polish soldiers are deployed in this province for providing peace and stability.
In compare to the last year, security situation is deteriorated than last year.
