Turkmenistan, Iran ratify Agreement on legal assistance

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Dec. 29 / Trend , E.Hasanov/ Turkmenistan and Iran exchanged documents on ratification of intergovernmental Agreement between the countries on mutual legal assistance in lawsuits, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said.

Rashid Meredov, the Turkmen Foreign Minister and Vice-Premier, signed a protocol on behalf of Turkmenistan and Mohammadrza Forgani, the Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, - on behalf of Iran.

The Agreement on mutual legal assistance, ratified by both countries' parliaments, will enrich intergovernmental agreement and legal base and favor development of cooperation between the relevant state bodies of Turkmenistan and Iran, the sides, said during the meeting.

Recently, a memorandum has been signed in Tehran. The memorandum was reached during the sixth meeting of intergovernmental commission on consular, customs and border issues between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
