Negotiations on the further use of Manas airbase by the NATO in Kyrgyzstan is impossible, as the presence of NATO troops in the country has no legal foundation, Committee on International Affairs and Interparliamentary Cooperation Deputy Chairman Kabai Karabekov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"The talks on the Gansi airbase, which is located in he Manas international airport in Bishkek, will not take place due to lack of the NATO's legal foundation to hold operations in Afghanistan," Karabekov said.
Last week American high ranking diplomat stated that Bishkek proposed the U.S. to continue the cooperation on Manas airbase. In February, the Kyrgyz President made a decision to denounce the agreement allowing presence of NATO troops in Manas airport. Kyrgyzstan denied the information. The Manas air base was used by NATO to implement anti terror operations in Afghanistan.
Karabekov said that all the documents related NATO troops' presence in Kyrgyzstan have become invalid.
American troops will leave the country before August.
If Americans want to hold negotiations, then they must do it in another format, Karabekov believes.
"I mean the economic and legal aspects of cooperation to recover Afghanistan," he added.
The coalition meant all countries must unite to combat terrorism in Afghanistan, as well as to revive the life in Afghanistan. However, no achievement has been achieved, Karabekov added.
