Georgian parliamentary speaker meets with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State in Washington

Georgian parliamentary speaker David Bakradze and U.S Deputy Secretary of State Philip Gordon mulled a wide range of the Georgian-American relations in Washington.

The sides discussed the situation in the occupied Georgian territory. The U.S. side stated it is us interested in stability in the country and throughout the region.

Gordon stressed that the U.S. will continue to support Georgia.

Furthermore, Bakradze discussed the bilateral relations with U.S Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns. Burns said the U.S. wants to support Georgia as a strategic partner.

The sides mulled Georgia's participation in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan.

Bakradze informed the Deputy Secretary of State about the situation in the occupied territories.
