Ganja Gates are Sacred Relic of Georgian Patriarchy, Georgian Culture Minister Asserts

Goergiy Gabashvili, the Georgian Culture Minister, stated that the Ganja Gates are the sacred relic of the Georgian Patriarchy and have been kept at the Gelati Monastery for over 10 centuries, Trend reports.

He noted that Georgia undertakes a commitment on preservation of culture monuments despite where they come out. The Minister also underlined the high level of relationships between Azerbaijan and Georgia in all spheres, including the culture sector. We have recently registered at the State Registration of Georgia the museums named after [prominent Azerbaijani writers] Mirza Fatali Akhundov, Jalil Mammadguluzade and Nariman Narimanov. Azerbaijan granted the Georgian Theater with a public status and Georgia granted the Azerbaijani Theater Tbilisi' a pubic status, he said.

Talking about the David Garaji Complex, the Minister stated that this is a historic monument and will be preserved as a historic monument irrespective where the components of the monument are located.
