The construction of court complexes in different regions of the country will begin in 2012, head of the Ministry of Justice, Fikret Mammadov said in an interview posted on Friday on the official website of the ministry.
Judicial reforms implemented in Azerbaijan and the democratic will of the State attracted the attention of influential international financial institutions, Mammadov said.
The World Bank took the initiative to provide financial assistance to Azerbaijan, Mammadov noted.
Mammadov pointed out that joint project to modernize the legal system is implemented and the project provides the construction of more than 20 new courthouses and court facilities.
Also in the near future it is planned to complete the construction of a new buildings for courts of Yasamal district of Baku, Nizami district of Ganja and Gedabek district court.
Mammadov said that in those court buildings which are constructed in accordance with high standards, special attention is paid to organization of the work process that meets the highest international standards, facilitation of opportunities for citizens' appeals to the courts, creation of all the important infrastructure for electronic documents, buildings equipped with modern information and communications equipment.
Mamedov said that the strategy includes the establishment of mutually coordinated communication systems, automation systems, information resources, convenient for the courts of various instances, judicial self-supporting bodies operating in Azerbaijan, as well as for the Justice Department. Mammadov also noted that the strategy of unified information infrastructure of the courts is being developed.
"This technological system increase the possibility of analytical studies by providing quick access to the information bank of legislation, to the common material of judicial practice, particularly in new and emerging areas of law, as well as create opportunities for the unification of the judicial proceedings, provide high-quality production of court documents," Mammadov added.
