The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan has revealed 10,373 incidents of administrative violations in January-October 2013, the committee's report said.
According to the report, these violations included some 105 related to attempted smuggling, 195 related to undeclared transportation of items, goods or money and 8,876 were related to a failure to submit relevant documents.
Some 299 customs laws violations serving as the basis for criminal prosecution were recorded in January-October 2013.
According to the information, 186 recorded incidents were related to smuggling and 115 to illegal drug trafficking.
Some 99.58 kilogrammes of narcotic drugs and 10.17 kilogrammes of psychotropic substances were seized during the reporting period. Nine incidents of imported of goods without excise stamps were also recorded. According to the SCC, some 337 people were detained in January-October as suspects.
