BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 14. As many as 5.9 billion manat ($3.4 billion) was allocated for pension payments in Azerbaijan during eleven months of this year, which is more by 14 percent or 711 million manat ($418.2 million) compared to the corresponding period of the last year, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population.
Meanwhile, the average monthly size of pensions in the country increased by 13 percent and reached 494 manat ($290.5), including the average monthly size of retirement pensions, which increased by 12 percent and reached 527 manat ($309.9).
A total of 33,000 appointments for pensions were made electronically from January through November, and 135,000 appointments for pensions have been made proactively through the electronic system since the beginning of 2019.
