BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. The analysts of the Dutch ING predict that Azerbaijan will keep the manat's de facto peg to the US dollar at the level of 1.7 manat to one dollar at least until the end of 2025, Trend reports.
The analysts explain that this will be due to a significant reduction in pressure on the manat.
To note, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan pegged the exchange rate of the national currency to the US dollar at 1.7 manat in 2017 to control inflation.
Additionally, the international S&P Global Ratings agency and the Asian Development Bank expect the Azerbaijani national currency to remain pegged to the dollar until 2026.
